Things to Do

Austin Guide

BRUNCH & CASUAL MORNING

June’s All Day — Quintessential Austin brunch on South Congress with great coffee, cocktails, and a chic, laid-back vibe.

Paperboy — Elevated breakfast classics, rooftop patio, and an incredible chilled cappuccino. This is Lindsey's favorite!

Sour Duck Market — Chill outdoor café with coffee, breakfast tacos, and world class pastries.

East Austin Food Truck Park — Open-air food truck park with local favorites and a rotating lineup of vendors. We go for the brown sugar miso iced coffee from Desnudo and a bagel sandwich from David's Doughie's Bagelry!

Bouldin Creek Café — Creative vegetarian-friendly spot, colorful atmosphere, and classic Austin charm.

Hillside Farmacy — Beautiful vintage pharmacy-turned-brunch-spot with local ingredients and fresh produce.

LUNCH & SMALL BITES

All Day Pizza — Neighborhood pizza joint with wood-fired slices and one of the best cookies you've ever had.

Tacodeli — Fast-casual tacos, perfect for an easy grab-and-go lunch. We love everything on the menu!

Opa! — Greek café and wine bar with cozy patio vibes.

De Nada Cantina — We have so many Mexican spots to choose from, but this is one of our favorites. Their margaritas are some of the best in town, and their quesadillas are like nothing you've ever tried!

la Barbecue — Iconic East Austin BBQ; plan ahead for the line.

DINNER

Lonesome Dove — Upscale Western-inspired dining with wild game and a Texas feel. Max's favorite for a nice night out!

Aba — Mediterranean plates under the trees and twinkle lights — it's a go-to for us! Great cocktails, and you have to try the whipped feta!

Este — Coastal Mexican with modern design and fresh seafood.

Franklin Barbecue — Legendary Texas BBQ. Get there early or pre-order; worth every bite.

Loro — Asian-Texas smokehouse fusion — shareable dishes and great cocktails.

VERDAD True Modern Mexican — Modern Mexican with bold flavors, agave-cocktail bar and sleek, lively dinner ambiance.

Matt’s El Rancho — Classic Tex-Mex institution with strong margaritas and family-style dining. A true Austin must-try!

Dai Due — Texas farm-to-table cuisine — local meats, housemade sausages, and a warm rustic atmosphere.

COFFEE & DESSERT

Swedish Hill — Bakery, café, and deli — perfect for morning pastries or light lunch.

Radio Coffee & Beer — Local favorite for coffee, live music, and evening hangs.

Tiny’s Milk & Cookies — Housemade cookies, pastries and soft-serve — simple and perfect. It might take the cake for best iced latte, according to Lindsey!

Civil Goat Coffee — Espresso with the pebble ice. Need we say more?

Cosmic Saltillo — One of our favorite spots to hang. Coffee and cocktails on draft, and a great taco joint attached!

Mozart’s Coffee Roasters — Iconic lakeside coffeehouse with in-house roasting, pastries, and live music on weekends.

First Light Books — Bookstore and café hybrid for a slow morning.

COCKTAILS & NIGHTLIFE

Whisler’s — East Austin favorite with a mezcal bar upstairs and live music.

Armadillo Den — Outdoor bar and live music venue — the ultimate “true Texas” night out.

ACTIVITIES

Grab a coffee at Noble Joe & walk Lady Bird Lake TrailClassic Austin morning ritual for Lindsey!

South Congress Shopping — Iconic stores, local shops, and Austin’s most photographed streets.

White Horse — Honky-tonk dancing, live music, and the real Texas experience.

Daytime stroll through Zilker Park — Paddleboards, picnics, and skyline views.

Cap City Comedy Club — Austin’s flagship comedy venue with national headliners, local talent, and full food & drink service. We frequent this spot!

In & Around Dripping Springs

Thyme & Dough — Fresh pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and locally roasted coffee served in a cozy cottage setting. Also serves excellent brunch-style lunches with quiche, soups, and more.

Hays City Store — Classic Texas roadhouse with burgers, tacos, and cold beer on tap. Grab a seat on the patio for live music. We love the vibe here!

Tillie’s — Upscale farmhouse dining right at Camp Lucy (our wedding venue!).

Dripping Springs Distilling — Award-winning distillery offering vodka, gin, and bourbon tastings with an elegant patio space.

Fredericksburg — Make a day of it! Cruise through Johnson City (and stop by our favorite winery, Lost Draw) before winding your way into the heart of Texas wine country. Start with a coffee at Sunday Supply, grab brunch or lunch at Hill & Vine, and then settle in for a wine tasting at Augusta Vin.

All along Highway 290, you’ll find dozens of wineries, tasting rooms, and local spots worth exploring. Once you reach Main Street, take your time — the German bakeries, antique shops, and small-town charm make Fredericksburg one of our favorite Hill Country escapes.

Wimberley —A perfect slow-morning escape just 45 minutes from Dripping Springs. Wander through the boutiques and art galleries downtown, grab a coffee at Sip on the Square, and enjoy lunch at The Leaning Pear overlooking Cypress Creek — or settle into Wimberley Café, the classic corner diner on the square serving hearty breakfasts and small-town comfort food. Need some activity? Take a stroll along the river or explore Blue Hole Regional Park. Wimberley is a little artsy, a little rustic, and everything we love about Hill Country.
